Navratri 2020

Navratri 2020

Navratri is here and I am so much excited about this. Navratri time is time to do worship and having fast for Nine days of Navratri. So Navratri is celebrated for 9 days. All these Nine days of Navratri I do have fast. Guys this is really helpful in purifying your soul and body. It is the best way of detoxification.  Navratri is celebrated by Hindus in all India. In some places in India, people do celebrate it with the Garba dance which is very famous.

People deeply believe in some rules that they follow during the Navratri. People do worship daily and some of the people keep fasting for the Nine Days of Navratri and Navratri Puja. People believe to eat only once or the fruits only. People do keep the Ghee Jyoti( illuminate a lamp of ghee) for the whole 9 days continuously which is part of the Navratri puja. It's a great belief of the people that Durga maa will fulfil their desires. There are different avatars of Goddess Durga and people worship all these avatars daily.

The nine manifestations of Goddess Durga that are worshipped on each day for the nine days of Navratri are as following:--

1. Goddess Shailputri

2. Goddess Brahmacharini

3. Goddess Chandraghanta

4. Goddess Kushmanda

5. Goddess Skandmata

6. Goddess Katyayani

7. Goddess Kaalratri

8. Goddess Mahagauri

9. Goddess Siddhidatri

I too had Navratri fast for nine days of Navratri and on the 9th day, we offer the goddess Durga with offerings( Prashad). The Prashad is a combination of Kaale Chane, Puri and Halwa. After this, it's the ritual to feed the food to 9 small girls. It is believed that these girls are the 9 avatars of the Durga maa. With this the 9 days fast are done. Jai Mata Di.
